Kid’s Race:

KID’S RACE REGISTRATION HERE – not required but recommended to ensure we have enough little finisher gifts for them!

Distance: Roughly 100 meters
Age: 12 and under
(Note: To ensure everyone safely crosses the finish line, we break the kids into heats according to age, this is done just prior to the event!)
Start Time: Before the awards, roughly 9:45AM
Awards: Finishers’ Gift and a High 5!

Other Important Details:

Slight Course Change:

The finish will be at the Arva Fire Station NOT the Arva Flour Mill. This will allow us to finish right beside our cozy hot chocolate after party! Woot! Woot!

To make up for early finish line…

Participants will be routed west on Medway Rd. for about 100 meters at the start of the race, then they will do a hairpin turn before Richmond St. and then proceed east on Medway Rd. per the usual course which turns around right before Adelaide St. to head home west on Medway Rd. See new course map HERE.

Water Station:

There will be one water station around the halfway mark along the course and then all finishers will receive a water bottle at the finish line.

After Party:
We have some great “coffee house” style entertainment at the Arva Fire Station where participants can celebrate their accomplishments while enjoying a warm beverage (hot chocolate or coffee) along with some refreshments!

T-shirt & Medals/Beanies:
You will receive your t-shirt at packet pickup but are not required to wear the shirt on race day! Medals will be distributed at the finish line area. They are GORGEOUS in case you missed the instagram/facebook posts! Beanies will be given out to the first 200 registrants and to anyone who purchased one during the registration process. All Platinum Runners Choice series participants are entitled to a t-shirt, unfortunately the silver level members are not.

Baggage Check:
Yes, it will likely be cold and we understand you want to wear your warmups as long as possible.

Drop off location: bottom of the mill hill near start line
Pick up location: Arva Fire Station Parking lot near the finish line

We will transport all items (tagged with your bib number) to the finish line (Arva Fire Station), where you can redeem your items by showing your bib number.

Washrooms:

We will have a few portapotties at the start line area (the mill) and a few at the finish line area (the fire station). No public washroom will be available to the public for use at the Arva Fire Station.

Road Closures:

BOTH LANES OF MEDWAY ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FROM 8:15AM-10AM. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

PARKING:

There is NO parking for participants at the mill. We suggest a few options that are all within a 5-10 minute walk from the start-line-a good warm up:)

a) Medway High school (park BEFORE 8am) as Medway Rd. will be closed from Adelaide to Richmond

b) Weldon Park – off of St.John’s Dr.

c) Arva neighborhood streets.

d) Local businesses along Richmond St. just north of Medway Rd.
